In my school context project, you will see characters from Parks and Recreation. I have placed five people and a horse in this photo. In the process of doing this, I used selection tools, layers, transform, clone stamp tool, and eraser. I felt like I was getting much better at using these tools by the end of the project. At this point, it's hard to tell how well it turned out because I have been staring at it for so long. I wish I could see it with a fresh set of eyes because I think that would allow me to make improvements. Overall, I feel like my Photoshop skills have improved throughout this project.

This may not have been the best weekend to do architecture. I was freezing cold the entire time I was downtown. The weather caused me to not take as many pictures as I wanted to as well as made some blurry because I was shivering. Despite this difficulty, I managed to get a few good pictures. I learned how important it is to plan ahead when going out to take pictures. It was a grey, freezing day, and I can imagine better conditions would have made my shoot turn out better. During this assignment, we were tasked to make our car look like Noelle's after she edited it. We used many different aspects of Photoshop including layers, clone stamp tool, selections and levels. When making my selection for the background, I chose to make it entirely black instead of leaving the white floor. In diverting from what I was supposed to do, I learned how to use the eraser tool to fix it. I decided to leave it as is, as a creative decision. Sorry for changing the project, Mr. Bush!
For this assignment, we created pop art out of a simple portrait. We learned how to use some simple controls in Photoshop. I learned about filters, guides, the resizing tool, and moving layers.
I started out the weekend without an idea of what I would photograph. Due to being sick, I realized I wouldn't be going anywhere to take pictures, so I decided to start looking through Pinterest for some inspiration on something I could do from my home. I came across some pictures of cups of water in front of different backgrounds. I thought they looked really cool, so I chose that for my project this week. I first had to find some glasses without any writing or design on them, which was extremely hard in my house. Then, I printed out my backgrounds and set everything up in my kitchen. I waited until the natural light was coming in and then began to photograph. After taking quite a few pictures, I wished I had larger backgrounds and nicer glasses. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't use the glasses I did because the pictures I saw online worked better. Overall, I think the pictures came out okay. I only wish I had better materials to complete it. For my first photo assignment, I chose the subject of food. My lunch run to Whole Foods turned into a photo shoot. Despite getting some strange looks as I wandered around the store with my camera in hand, I found it to be a successful trip. The lighting, for the most part, was pretty good. It would have helped me out if they had some of their fresh fruits and veggies arranged in a more aesthetically pleasing way, but I tried to make the best of what I was given. From this struggle I learned how important a photographer's eye must be to take good pictures. I'm sure a professional would have seen a more creative way to shoot some of these pictures. However, this is our first project, so I am proud of the shots I got. DescriptionFor this assignment, we were tasked with taking pictures containing eleven different rules of composition. In order to do this we had to make use of our cameras, Adobe Bridge, Weebly, and the environment around us. After taking as many pictures as we saw fit, we were to choose our best ones and create this blog post containing them. I learned...Before this assignment, I did not know what Adobe Bridge was or how to use it. Now, I am comfortable importing pictures, viewing them in different ways, and transferring them to my Weebly site. Speaking of Weebly, this was foreign to me before last week. I am still getting the hang of it, but I already feel like I have learned a lot about it. Lastly, I learned about eleven rules of composition. It is interesting to see these elements all around me now.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Julie Palmer, and I am a senior at Saline High School. Saline is the only home I have ever known, as my family has been here since before I was born. My brother, Zac, is 20 years old and attends Syracuse University. My other "brother" is my dog Huey. He has been a part of my family for the past 10 years, and it's hard to imagine my life without him. Since the age of 7, I have defined myself as a baton twirler. If I'm not doing school work, I probably have a baton in my hand. Despite my busy schedule from school and twirling, I still find time to work at Menchie's, spend time with my friends, and do other things that make my heart happy.
When deciding on my schedule for senior year, this class stood out to me because I realized I had not taken a single photography class throughout the 3 years I had already been here. I used to love taking pictures, but I haven't done it in so long due to my previously mentioned busy schedule. I figured that if I took a class that forced me to take pictures, I would be more motivated to continue this hobby. Hopefully, this class reignites my passion of taking pictures. |
