This trimester has flown by, but I have accomplished a lot in this class. I'm happy to say that I officially know how to take a good picture. I'll have to keep practicing to become better, but at least I have the necessary knowledge. I know so much more about cameras and how to manipulate them to my benefit. Before this class, I had a low understanding of what actually happens when you change the settings to a camera. Now, I can choose the best settings for my pictures whenever needed. The pictures below show my growth from the beginning to the conclusion of this class.
Not only did I learn how to take pictures, but I learned how to make them look better or manipulate them in Photoshop. I had prior knowledge of Photoshop from other classes I have taken, but I definitely learned some new tricks. I feel more confident in my ability to use Photoshop now than I did before this class. The clone stamp tool was completely new to me, and I'm really happy I know how to use it now. The editing that I did to the car showed me how to problem solve within Photoshop. A lot of tools came together to make this final product. I made a few mistakes along the way, but I managed to figure them out using both new and prior knowledge. This class has taught me many new things, all of which I am happy to know. I think that having a general knowledge of photography and Photoshop are important in the world we are living in. This class has made this trimester fun by giving me a break from the school work and allowing me to do something creative. I am content with my decision to take this class, even though it took me all four years to finally get around to it.

During this motion demo I learned how to pan in order to make my subject sharp and background blurry. I focused on the spot that I would be taking the picture, and then when the bike started moving towards me I followed it with my camera the whole way through. I learned the correct shutter speed and whether or not I should zoom in to make it turn out better.
This picture is of me, me, me, me, and me. This Photoshop assignment taught me quite a bit. I learned how to use layer masks to my advantage. I learned the concept of revealing and concealing using the brush tool. I made sure to use a soft brush when necessary. I also learned how to add adjustment layers to make my picture have a "look." Overall, I learned how to fix my mistakes through trial and error.
